Pentaho metadata editor - 9.4.0.0 does not seem to be using Karaf as deployment engine

    Pentaho metadata editor - 9.4.0.0 does not seem to be using Karaf as embedded deployment engine like the 9.3.0.0-428 version.

    I downloaded the PME 9.4.0.0 and all it's dependencies to build and run the tool.

    Earlier on PME 9.3.0.0-428, the tool used to have a 'system' folder under which the Karaf deployable used to exist. Now, on 9.4.0.0, the 'system' folder itself does not exist. If this observation is correct, in that case what is the 9.4.0.0 environment for deployment based on?

    Can someone please point me to the detail of the deployment?

    Hi,

    since v9.4 OSGi container Karaf is build separated as hadoop addon for all tools.

    Download pme-ce-9.4.0.0-343-hadoop-addon.zip from download page and extract to your installation directory.

    Thanks Petr, this info helps. And of course, detaching Karaf and keeping it loosely coupled seems to be a good design decision.
