    Hi,

I am taking over an old HNAS, and got email of this error msg about all the SDs in the span.

What is the command or document to solve this problem?  Thanks in advance.

    Hello Jinhu

The span can often be the underlying disk being a problem best would be a support case to ensure that no data is lost.

Apologies, for some reason I lost access to this forum and hopefully am now back to receiving mails.

When a DPVol is presented to the VSP One File 30, the server inventories the SD and knows the capacity of the DPVol. As part of this, a signature is written to each DPVol (this is CoD) and thus "expansion" of a DPVol is not a supported task.

It appears someone "thought" that they could perform a LUN expansion and the server would allow the extra space. Unfortunately, that is not the case. and the LUN needs to be shrunk back to the exact block size pre-expansion.

Is there a command that you can shrink LUN without destroying the data on it?

Hello Jinhu, such a question is not for the "NAS community" - you should really open a case with the GSC to ask for assistance to help guide you thru whatever is occurring. I see you have an "active" in SalesForce, so this is the best way to proceed.
