Hello,

When we want to create a Pool, we have to create Basic LUN first, and then group those Basic LUN to become Pool.

Now, is there any best practice on the Basic LUN configuration?

For example, with 3,8 TB SSD RAID 6 (6D+2P) usable 20,6 TB. 

I want to create a pool from that RAID Group, so first i need to create a few Basic LUN, and from those Basic LUNs i create a Pool.

But, how many Basic LUN should i create, and how big the size of the Basic LUN  is?

I assume you are trying to create a single Dynamic Provisioing (DP) Pool from 3.8 TB SSD RAID 6 (6D+2P) usable 20.6 TB.

First you need to create a Parity Group from from 3.8 TB SSD RAID 6 (6D+2P) drives.

Once you create a PG, then you can create as many as Basic LDEVs.



After that, please go ahead with creating the DP Pool by selecting those previously created basic LDEVs as per below screenshots.

hi tanmoy ,ithink he means is about how creat big size has a purpose for no capacity left or maximum size  so he need the formula for count size. Kurniawan you can try my way, total capacity parity divided by multiple of 2 must not exceed 3TB,For SSD disk multiples of 4
