  • 1.  enabling ldev compression in f1500/g1x00 can we do?

    We using FMD HDE drive which support acceleration compression at drive/PG level and we are not getting option to enable capacity saving to compression for DP-vols/LDEV, then we  wont't be able to enable compression at ldev level not sure what is changed the way they do compression on newer arrays and disks compared to the way we do it
    i know where to do edit ldev for compression but simply no option
    i think we can do for 5000 e series

    we dn't get this option in f1500

    FMD based compression is at the drive/RAID group level.
    SVOS based compression is not recommended for the R800 series i.e. VSP G1000/G1500/F1500 and is not available.
    SVOS based compression is available on the R900 i.e. VSP 5500/5600/5100/5200.

    Yes, We can enable compression on the LDEV level in E590/E790/E1090.
