Hardware Independence in Action: VSP One SDS Now Verified on Supermicro

    Posted 4 days ago
As we continue to evolve the Virtual Storage Platform One (VSP One) ecosystem, we are excited to share a significant milestone regarding the hardware independence of our Software Defined Storage (SDS).

We have officially verified VSP One SDS on high-performance Supermicro servers. This includes successful validation of the following nodes:

    • SSG-121E-NE316R
    • SYS-221H-TN24R
    • SYS-221BT-HNR

Why this matters for your architecture: One of the most frequent questions we receive is whether SDS can truly run on a customer's chosen infrastructure. This verification proves that VSP One SDS is not tied to a specific hardware vendor.

By leveraging our Self-Certification program, you can now confidently deploy enterprise-grade storage on your existing x86 server assets or new platforms like Supermicro. This helps eliminate hardware lock-in, reduces TCO, and allows you to bring compute and data closer together for AI-driven and mission-critical workloads.

    Key Technical Resources:
Product Compatibility Guide: For a full list of certified configurations and specific hardware requirements, check the updated guide here: Product Compatibility Guide

Support & Documentation: Detailed implementation steps for these nodes are being added to the technical documentation portal.

We'd love to hear from you-are you planning to deploy SDS on your existing infrastructure, or are you looking at new high-density nodes for AI workloads? Let us know in the comments!
