Hello there!

Im new with this tool and new for the first time in this community so please if this question was answered in a later topic please refer it to me so i can look for the solution!

I want to know what difference are between Pentaho Data Integration Client running ETL's as a Server or Pentaho Server...

I know i can upload my jobs and transformations to Pentaho Server but i only need like to run ETL's in my company so i don't know if i should have a Server Infraestructure running to only do that...

If i have like the PDI running on a virtual machine and put some crons to schedule the task is the same as having it on a Pentaho Server?

Please i beg someone to answer me this question because im trying to look for some information on internet and i don't find anything right now!

Hi Mariano, 

There are many ways to achieve it, but if you only need ETL to run, you can use Pentaho Data Integration client at on place. No need to use Pentaho Server.
You can use PDI and can do Cron to schedule it.
 Let me know if anything is not clear.
