    Hi all,

I hope you can help me with an issue I'm having with Storage Advisor Embedded. I'm unable to access it-when I try, the connection is refused, although I can ping the IP address.

Initially, I set up the VSP E590 and was able to access Storage Advisor Embedded using the default IP, username, and password. I then changed the password and assigned the designated IPs for both controller 1 (ctl1) and controller 2 (ctl2). I also configured the necessary network settings, including the subnet, gateway, and DNS, and saved everything. After moving the management cable to the management switch, I can no longer access the Storage Advisor Embedded-it refuses to connect, though the IP I set still responds to pings.

What could be causing this, and what should I check? I would really appreciate any guidance.

    Hello Patrick

I'm guessing you can still access the embedded controller either via the maintenance IP (10.0.0.16&17) or by plugging it back. It's most likely either a bad gateway/subnet(things you can change in the maintenance utility) or some firewall/network settings(things you'll have to troubleshoot outside the array) causing you to not access it.

If you access the embedded controller at the top right of the screen there is a little gear that will allow you access the maintenance utility once you login. After that you can check the network settings and also confirm that the services are enabled on the management network here:
