    Veeam Data Platform provides data protection for Hitachi Vantara production workloads and data whether they reside as block storage in Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform or NFS/SMB file storage in Hitachi NAS Platform.


    Veeam offers deep storage snapshot integration with Hitachi VSP production workloads so you can benefit from faster backup and recovery and improved recovery point objectives (RPOs).  Additionally, organizations can leverage Hitachi VSP or HCP/HCP for Cloud Scale for backup and secondary
    storage. Veeam and Hitachi provide immutable storage for complete backup immutability and data security.

    However, you cannot use this plugin with Thin Image Advanced

    Sharing Thin Image Advanced and plug-ins

    You cannot use Thin Image Advanced with the following plug-ins or functions that use plug-ins:

    • vCenter Site Recovery Manager that uses Hitachi Storage Replication Adapter (SRA) plugin
    • File systems and backup functionality for Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Exchange, by the agent of Hitachi Command Suite Replication Manager Application Agent
    • Backup functionality of Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service by RAID Manager RM Shadow Copy Provider plug-in
    • Hitachi Storage Plug-in for Veeam Backup and Replication
    • Hitachi Block Storage Driver for OpenStack
    • Hitachi Storage Plug-in for Containers

    And from the link below, it indicates that you cannot use HTI (non-advanced) with ADR volumes.

    Together this indicates that you cannot use the Hitachi Storage Plug-in for Veeam Backup and Replication with ADR volumes

    When are we going to see this most basic of functionality, orchestrating hardware array-based snapshots, into the current and preferred snapshot technology?
