We are excited to announce Michael Ratner as the next HDS Community Pioneer! This is no small congratulation - the Pioneer Award is given to an HDS employee or contractor who is "first or among the earliest in any field of inquiry, enterprise, or progress; thus opening it for development by others." Michael has gone above and beyond the requirements for this award, and has shown true spirit in his willingness to help others and make the HDS Community a more vibrant place.

Michael has been active in the community since October 2013.  In that short time he has earned more than 4,000 points, making him one of the few level 7 contributors. Michael brings an undeniable amount of expertise to his job at HDS and to the community: as an electrical engineer, he has had years of experience in both academia and applied IT. His expertise is in Hitachi File and Content products (HCP, HCO, HDDS and HNAS), and is well-versed in many aspects of IT from security to storage management to systems. He is also an avid chess player and a world traveler.

Michael has steadily increased his time as a community evangelist and moderator, following up with customers to make sure their questions were answered to their satisfaction. In fact, he goes out of his way to make sure we are doing our jobs, by notifying us when a question has been unanswered for a few days, or needs to be moved to a more appropriate area in the community. Some of his most appreciated work goes on behind the scenes. But publicly, you can find Michael in the Global Account and GSI Customer Community, the Security and Privacy space, and the Solution and Product Forums. If you have questions about Storage Management, Data Protection and Content Mobility, I recommend you "follow" Michael Ratner.

He has completed his profile, frequently reaches out to others, is consistently available and responsive, and is an active member of several groups in the community.

Michael demonstrates the Hitachi Spirit by his collaboration and service to others.
