Hello,
I have 2 Hitachi E790's that I use on GAD architecture. and I use an external storage for Quorum. This external storage is down.
I added a new quorum disk from another external storage.(NewQuorum)
NewQuorum
I can also see the new quorum disk in OPS Center HA Setup.
OPS-NewQuorum
But my existing GAD Pairs still show up on the old quorum. if I want to create a new replication group, I can see the quorum disk I just added.
ExistingReplicationGroup

I discovered that Quorum disks can be changed in the Protector Data Flows section. and I tried this on 1 Data Flows for testing.

DataFlow-QuorumChange
the target quorum disk was changed and everything seemed fine.
DataFlow-Policy

but when I want to start replication I get the following errors.
E790-BCRS New_ESX_DS 11864 Handler 'HitachiVirtualStoragePlatform' call failed: pairresync failed
E790-BCRS New_ESX_DS - 'Destination' Sequence 'Resume' failed: ResumeReplicationRequest failed for reason: pairresync failed. *** Attachment count: 2 ***

 Active Full Copy

  New_ESX_DS

 Hitachi Block Host

 New_ESX_DS (New_ESX_DS)

 Paused, Eligible for Teardown

I think I did not change the quorum disk in the right place.
Can anyone help with this issue?
Thanks.

Hello Ahmet

I think the best would be to do this via raidcom. There is a specific raidcom command to replace the quorum, you can read all about it here(while maintaining the replication relationship):

https://docs.hitachivantara.com/r/en-us/svos/9.8.7/mk-98rd9024/maintenance-of-global-active-device/replacing-the-external-storage-system-while-keeping-gad-pairs

If you want to do it the way you did it in protector. You'd have to:

  • Stop the current dataflow
  • Tear Down the existing replication pairs
  • Delete the secondary volumes
  • Re-active your data flow, which will resync the volumes with the new quorum
