Is there a 200 TB limit on VSP One SDS Block on BM with mirroring redundancy?

I created at 6 node SDS cluster, each node has 8 x 6 TB disks, but the SDS cluster detects on 7 drives one of the node. This is mirroring configuration.

Hello

Can you show your drive tab? It shouldn't be the case. Did you add all of them into the pool?

Regards

William

Thank you for reaching out, Abhishek. The answer is no, we do not have a 200 TB limit.  In addition to Williams' request, we should also see what the reserve rebuild policy is set to. My initial thought is that you have set this to 1, which will mean the cluster was built to withstand at least 1 drive failing in each node. Hence, seeing only seven of the eight drives. Another issue could be that something is not set correctly within the system's BIOS.   Lets get the following information if you can?

  1. An image of the drive tab?
  2. Can you tell us what reserve rebuild policy is set to.
  3. Can you provide any information of the bios and the settings?

thanks

Thank you @William Jansen Van Nieuwenhuizen @Sean Siegmund for your prompt responses!

My 200 TB question came from the below in the setup guide. I guess this is a per node limit then?

My rebuild policy was set to 1 drive. I assume this is a default since I didn't set this while creating the pool. I did change it to zero, which didn't change anything in terms of capacity numbers. I am not sure if rebuild policy is playing a role here since the system could see only 47 drives prior the pool creation.

My drives tab itself shows only 47 drives instead of 48 (8 * 6 nodes). It is the drive in 8th slot on my first node. From the iLO, I can see the drive is online. The bios settings are at default per the documentation for G20 server. All the other disks on this node are visible as well except the last drive.

Thank you!

Hi Abhishek, i think now that you have initialized the pool you may need to re-install to access this drive. @Koushik Ghosh can you provide some insight?
