Hey Folks,
I've been looking into HDRS today and I'm having a hard time understanding its purpose. Could someone clarify what HDRS actually does? Is its sole purpose to automate the provisioning and deployment of GAD?
Once deployed, what will I be using HDRS for? What are its advantages?
Additionally, how is deploying HDRS different from setting up storage-based GAD mirroring for my system drives?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Hello Abhishek - have you logged into TISC and download HDRS manuals (there are several). I have a hard time with SupportConnect so I prefer to use TISC.Please download those documents (voluminous) to get an idea of the solution.
automated install of GAD, configures DPVols into GAD pairs and presents the System Drives to the HNAS and creates a span/storage pool. Then HDRS monitors the system for failures and can automatically fix storage/NAS errors.HDRS is a licensed product and requires proper configuration in CPQ as part of purchase of VSP One File 34/38; currently the software is installed on the vSMU. Later this year it will be integrated with VSP One File Administrator.I can't tell if you are in pre-sales or not, but one of our TE's over in the region, @Mandar Bhide, might be able to have a conversation with you.
