Hi to all,

I have following secnario on our Hitach VSP G200 Storage.

We have 3 PG Groups

1x0 TB on SSD = 1 TB

4 x3 TB on SAS = 12 TB

We created LDEV from 1 TB SSD = 200x5

                                       12 TB = 200x9

Provision Type : Basic while creating LDEVs above.

Then we created a Pool and add all these in it. NOw we have one Pool with 13 TB total Useable Space

Now we create a LDEVs from Pool and having provision type: dynamic provisioning (also called VVOL) of 2 TB and add this LUN to VMWare and format it as VMFS5

Now create a VM on DataStore with size= 100 GB , then delete this VM , Datastore reclaim the space.

But when we check on SAN the LUN contains 100GB used not reclaiming the space

Below is the results of command to check:

[root@srv-06:~] esxcli storage core  device vaai status get -d naa.60060e80223c1f0050413c1f00000024

   VAAI Plugin Name: VMW_VAAIP_HDS

   ATS Status: supported

   Clone Status: supported

   Zero Status: unsupported

   Delete Status: unsupported

Note: Host Group is created with Host Mode: 21 Vmware-extension and no host options selected.

Please update is we are missing something our any procedure to follow to reclaim space on SAN (LUN level)
