I tried to search compatibility matrix for VVOL . I found E series storage is not supported

Here's VMware vVols compatibility with VSP series :

As you can see no compatibilty for VSP E series ...

 

And if you look at this link and open the Release Notes - 3.6.0 - Hitachi Storage Provider for VMware vCenter (VASA Provider) for Block Storage you will have the same answer ...

So I think no support actually for VSP E Series ...

vVols on VSP E Series should be supported with a new SVOS release.

 

From what I know SVOS 9.8.1.
