I'm trying to use the HCP Data Migrator in Windows 2008 server to migrate/ingest around 500GB of data from SAN.  I'm seeing that the tool is very slow in moving the data across.  In 45mts, only 1GB of data has been moved to the HCP drive.  If I perform the same using ROBOCOPY, around 9GB gets transferred in 30mts.  I have mapped the HCP as a CIFS share in the windows server to perform this copy operation.  I had to use CIFS as I'm not able to create namespace profile due to authentication issues.

The load settings are

Maximum Operations per System = 500 (from 200)

Maximum Operations per Node = 50 (from 20)

If 1GB in 45mts is going to be the trend, I will not be able to get to my target of migrating 500GB within a day.

Appreciate any help/suggestion/insignts in improving the performance - with mapping the HCP as a CIFS share.

Many thanks

I'm not sure if this is still relevant but there is a tool called CMT, currently on version 3, that supports migrations from/to SMB,NFS,HCP and HCPAW and which is much faster than HCPDM or even robocopy. Besides, it preserves metadata and makes compliance guarantees.
