Wanted to know why only RAID-6(6D2P, 14D2P)) and not RAID-5 is applicable for GAD/HUR of the data protection solution?

I see that all tthe HUR/GAD solutions always have RAID-6 drives and not RAID-5 drives, as I am not from a hardware background curious to know why RAID-6 works over RAID-5

RAID-6 is similar to RAID-5, except that it uses double parity for enhanced fault tolerance. If two disks fail simultaneously, RAID 6 can reconstruct the data with double parity. RAID-6 is highly secure and fault-tolerant and this is the reason why RAID-6 is used in HUR/GAD solutions.

Great question.  It's about reliability, and not about HUR or GAD.  We always recommend RAID6 for data reliability, and our 100% Data Availability Guarantee requires it.  RAID5 (and RAID10) works, but isn't best practice.
