Did you 'Refresh' storage navigator before you clicked the assign journal volumes button?
Maybe you should get somebody from support to take a look with you. I would say get Ops Center going too. These day to day operations are lot easier from within the Ops Center tools.

Subject: Procedure to increase journal volume in HUR (Hitachi Universal Replicator) in G600 storage
Hi William,
I am stuck with another hurdle now.
I have created a new journal volume of 60 GB but I am not able to see the newly created volume in Assign journal volumes tab.
01D is the existing journal volumes which is of 20 GB.

Newly created Journal volume is 023 of 60 GB.

Hello
You skipped a step in the instructions, you need to select Journal ID link, not select the tick box next to it:

Subject: Procedure to increase journal volume in HUR (Hitachi Universal Replicator) in G600 storage
Hi William,
We are not using Hitachi Ops Center Protector.
I tried to follow the steps but not able to find "Journal Volumes tab, click Assign Journal Volumes". To increase a journal volume size, do I have to create separate journal volume with bigger size and replace it with existing one?
Procedure
1. In the Explorer pane, expand the Storage Systems tree.
2. Expand the target storage system tree, expand Replication, and click Remote Replication.
3. In the Mirrors tab, select the Journal ID link for the journal you want to add journal volumes to.
4. In the Journal Volumes tab, click Assign Journal Volumes.
5. In the Assign Journal Volumes window, from the Unassigned Journal Volumes table, select the journal volume to be added to the journal, and then click Add. The selected journal volume moves to the Assigned Journal Volumes table.
To remove a volume from the table, select the volume and click Remove.
Adding an additional journal volume to an existing journal
You can add one additional journal volume to a journal. The additional volume is not used unless needed for maintenance or to replace the first journal volume. In the event of pair failure, the additional reserve journal volume allows you to reduce the time to recover a blocked journal volume.

Hello
Are you using Hitachi Ops Center Protector?
You can head over to the storage arrays in Ops Center Protector and just click the expand icon. It should take care to do the rest. Screenshot below:

Knowledge base article on how to do it in Protector:

Alternatively you can do it via Embedded API possibly[array dependent]:

Please help to share the procedure to increase journal volume in HUR (Hitachi Universal Replicator) in G600. We have multiple replicated volumes replicating from PROD to DR however one the volume's pair is breaking frequently and we have to re-sync back again every time. The actual volume size is 100 GB and the journal volume size is 20 GB. Our suspicion its due to size of journal volume.
