Replication between 2 storage is depends on FCIP switch, that takes extra layer and dependency.

I'm not sure what the question is. Is it perhaps that you dont have fibre connectivity between sites?

We have different 'feature' cards that you can install on the storage array to potentially help you get around the limitations.

You can also direct connect potentially? If it's a stretched fabric then you can just Zone the connectivity. But if you have only network connectivity. You'll have to use an FCIP switch OR you can use iSCSI feature cards on the storage array.
