Required help to install Pentaho 9.4 community edition. Also let me know on below points to run Pentaho in our bank network.

1) Cost to install licensed Pentaho 9.4 community edition.

2) How to create repository.

3) How to connect Pentaho setup to kettle link for monitoring jobs.

Hi,

1) Cost to install Pentaho 9.4 Community Edition - no cost, though for commercial implementations is highly recommended obtaining the Pentaho Enterprise Edition, which has continuous Service Pack updates with security vulnerability fixes and improvements.

Please note Pentaho 9.5 Enterprise was released in May 2023, and this December is expected to be released Pentaho 10.0 Enterprise release. Therefore relying on Pentaho 9.4 CE for commercial use is not best choice as newer components and libs are available in the more recent versions.

You can experiment the Pentaho Enterprise version via 30 day trial from HV website, or Amazon Market Place or Azure Market Place original Hitachi images with in cloud deployments.

2) There are several types of repository, one of the most popular is Postgres. The installer can do that for you or you can configure and existing one. There is documentation on Hitachi Vantara website about Pentaho installation and configuration.

Hope this helps you start on the best path for you. Contact our Hitachi Vantara experts for a quote by explaining your use case and need. They will help you address your need.

1) To add to Mladen's response, the machine images in both AWS and Azure are 9.5 EE and start with a PostgreSQL repository already configured.  You can be up and running in minutes and only pay for what you use.  As noted, they also come with a 30 day trial.  When you begin a trial, you will have access to our experts to gain more insights into your use cases and guide you on the path to a successful implementation.

1b) There are many successful implementation architectures for cloud and on-premise, including containers and/or kubernetes.  View our on-demand Webinar from October to learn more about how we might assess these options with you.

3) You can monitor job executions in multiple ways.  There is a default database for logging that can be queried.  In the combined DI and BA Server, we have created a data mart and reporting against this logging database.  You can also view the kettle status page for any recent logs.  A third option for remote monitoring through SNMP traps also exists.
