 Inspect Data "Unfortunately, your browser is not supported."

Hi
When I try to use the "Inspect Data" on a step in PDI, I get the famous "Unfortunately, your browser is not supported." Error.

Anyone that knows how to A) make it use Chrome or B) use the internet Explorer I have installed, but is not default browser.

I get the same error sometimes when using the "Help" button.

I got this from support, It only solved my problem halfway, but you can give it a go :-)

Workflow Stage: Issue Definition


When using the Inspect Data on a step in PDI you get the following error:

  • Unfortunately, your browser is not supported.

-) Please can you test the Proposed Solution below:

Workflow Stage:  Proposed Solution


Please test the steps below:

1: Stop Spoon

2: Find your .spoonrc file
Normally loated in \Users\<<username>>\.kettle

3: Take a backup of this file

4: Open the .spoonrc file in a text editor

5: Search for the property min.windows.browser.supported and change the value from 11 to 7

6: Search for the property DisableBrowserEnvironmentCheck and set it to Y

7: In the .spoonrc file make sure you have the 2 properties

min.windows.browser.supported=7
DisableBrowserEnvironmentCheck=Y

NOTE: If you do not see the above 2 properties in your .spoonrc then please add them.

8: Save the changes

9: Restart Spoon.
