eh? pentaho has moved away from oracle jvm. Since 8.3 they fully support openjdk.

theres no such thing as oracle openjdk. oracle provide their jvm, which is the old sun one. they changed the license so that now you cannot use 8 commercially without paying a fee. hence why everyone moved over to openjdk and away from oracle.

Not directly no. but ive seen a demo and ive chatted to them at a trade fair - its a brilliant complimentary tool. If you combine this with the metadata capabilities of kettle then its a game changer!

Look for the other bit of code regarding the redirect. Theres 2 cases where it redirects to the home page.  You need to change them both.

Have you had a look at the multi tenancy stuff? does the force all to lowercase option help here? (In the database connection). Just a guess. Id raise a jira though, a change like that doesnt make any sense! it should at least be configurable.

Absolutely - definitely wont assume that.  We are using some stored procs, and I had a review and theyre not using transactions.  So indeed, this could be a red herring. Nevertheless the symptom remains - I had an idle process on the database that was blocking a whole bunch of other processes from running. ...
