The old midrange boxes do not have an SVP.   For management, you need Storage Navigator Modular 2. Its available for download here:   https://support.hitachivantara.com/en/user/answers/downloads/downloads-detail.html?d=Storage%20Navigator%20Modular%202&pptype=Software%20Version   Alternatively, if you ...

The Connecting the SAS (ENC) Cables section of the Installation Users Guide discusses cabling. But I am suggesting that you might either have a cable that isnt connected/seated properly, or the cable might be faulty. You can try swapping the cable with another one on the same system, while the power ...

Sounds like you have a faulty SAS connection between controller 0 and unit 01. Possibly a cable not connected correctly, or a faulty cable. You should open a ticket if it is under HVs support.

Generally speaking, you cannot shrink a volume. I believe you would have to delete and recreate the journal volume(s).

Excerpt from the HUR and TC guides:   The maximum size of the P-VOL and S-VOL are: If internal VOL, 3,145,663 MB (6,442,317,824 blocks) each. If external VOL, 4,194,304 MB (8,589,934,592 blocks) each. If DP-VOL, the same as the maximum size of the DP-VOL. For details, see the Provisioning Guide for your ...

You can configure SNMP, SMTP, and Syslog forwarding directly on each storage system. See the System Administration Guide for whichever model you are working with.

not sure what the issue is (havent had a chance to scrutinize your output), but I just want to note that you cannot use telnet to test UDP. Telnet is strictly TCP. So you should disregard your telnet test results.   Edit: Also, did you modify the IP address to obfuscate the SVPs actual IP for purposes ...

Do you have support for this system?   You can try restoring the LDEV in Storage Navigator (Select LDEV, More Actions, Restore), and then replacing the drives. See the Restoring blocked LDEVs procedure in the Gx00 Provisioning Guide. But Im guessing this might fail.

For historical data, use Performance Monitor in Storage Navigator. You may also use the Gx00s performance export tool to output CSVs of this data. Reach out to your CE to see if they can set up the performance export tool in your environment. Note, the historical data goes back up to 6 months and uses ...

How and when did these drives fail? Did they fail at the same time? Or did you accumulate these failures over time? Did you not have sufficient spares configured? The fact that the ldev is blocked tells me the data was not able to copy to spare. RAID 5 cannot withstand two simultaneous failures, let ...

The systems contain batteries for backing up cache to CFMs during a power outage. The batteries reside in the Backup Modules or BKMF on the Gx00s.

The subsystem is offline. Is the red Alarm light on? Did you simply pull out the old SVP and insert the spare, or was the appropriate maintenance procedure followed? These types of issues are typically too complex to troubleshoot via the forum (the configuration needs to be known, SIMRCs and SSBs need ...

G1000 maintenance must be carried out by authorized field personnel. The procedures are not publicly available for this system model. You will need to open a ticket with support to have a field engineer dispatched.

If you use RAIDCOM/CCI, you can use the raidcom get lun command. Yep. Create and download a configuration report (Reports>Configuration Report) in Storage Navigator. Once youve extracted the files, either launch index.html (requires flash to work properly😒), or open the CSV folder to find WWNinfo.csv.

Can G300/700/900 series arrays be run and managed without SVPs? Yes. The SVP is technically optional. You can use HSA, HCS, or CCI to manage multiple arrays. You can also use HSA Embedded, which is already running the controllers, to manage an individual system. See the Product Overview for Hitachi VSP ...
