    Posted 11-09-2023 08:07

    Hi,

How to delete the parity groups on G1500 with Storage Navigator?

Under Storage System -> Parity Group -> More Action or Actions-> Parity Groups there is no option for deleting parity groups.

The user is in the Storage Administrator (View & Modify) group.

    Hi,

You can not delete parity group with Storage Navigator for Storage G1000/G1500.

you should go SVP and gray screen. But procedure is a little complex ,not just a few click.I recommend to do it with Hitachi Vantara Engineers.

    Regards

Hi. I believe, if you first start 'shrinking' option on the DP-Vols inside the Pool. Once you shirnk it, and then under Parity Group, you see those shrinked volumes as 'blocked',  then you can delete them.  Once all volumes are deleted , then you can delete the Parity Group.  We're able to delete almost all the PGs like that. But now , only two PGs with single Volumes left on each Pool.  For, the last DP-Vol to be deleted, it seems something else needs to be done, as it gives the error: The shrinking operation cannot be performed on the specified pool the ratio of used capacity after shrinking becomes.......
