Pentaho CE 9.4 Missing Marketplace

  • 1.  Pentaho CE 9.4 Missing Marketplace

    Greatings,
    I recently downloaded the Pentaho CE 9.4 suite.
    Surprisingly, this release does not bring the connection to the Marketplace. Does anyone know how to solve this big problem?

    Does installing pdi-ce-9.4.0.0-343-hadoop-addon restore the Marketplace? Or, was this the package you wanted to install via Marketplace?

    We are facing same issue in 9.3 community.

     

    From user console marketplace is not visible. Hoping the Hadoop add ons help us fix the issue.

    Please provide us the link to download the Hadoop add ons as I could not find them.

    Divya,

    Can you let us know if this is a fresh install of v9.3 CE or an upgrade where you encounter this issue? The hadoop plugin as an add on is introduced starting from v9,4, so this resolution won't be possible on v9.3.
    Will keep you posted to see if the hadoop plugins is causing this behavior on v9.3

    Can you try to clear the repository indexes to re-start the server. That should help in your case for the market place plugin option to show up in PUC.

    One more issue I'm facing is, not able to test data connections from PUC whereas from spoon it is working as expected.

    Divya,

    You will need to Stop the server - > navigate to "pentaho-server\pentaho-solutions\system\jackrabbit" and clear the contents of repository folder in there.
    Please note, do not delete the repository.xml file in there.
    Re-start the server to allow the indexes re-build again.

    I tried rebuilding the indexes.

    But URl is not connecting with admin id now and I'm able to connect with evalauator and I don't see any jobs
    ☹

     

    Any idea what could have gone wrong?

     

    We had migrated more than 1000 jobs and it will be of few days task if we need to migrate again.

    Hi Divya,
    In version 9.3 the hadoop plugin is already integrated, you don't need to download it separately.
    On the other hand, the pdi-ce-9.4.0.0-343-hadoop-addon package is only applicable to PDI and has no relation to PUC.
    In fact, in my case Marketplace was always available in PUC.
    I think your problem is in the pentaho server configuration.
    Stop the server, check the jackrabbit configuration in \pentaho\server\pentaho-server\pentaho-solutions\system\jackrabbit\repository.xml and
    \pentaho\server\pentaho-server\tomcat\webapps\pentaho\META-INF\context.xml
    Then restart the server

    I am trying to create an AI job using http client and the data is large .

    I have tried using limit and start in URI but it will only process 3000 or 4000 , if I increase to 5000 it will not process.

     

    Is there any examples of pentaho using Pagination when using Http Client for URI

    I finally got around to updating to Pentaho CE 9.4 BA server. From the initial install the marketplace was there but no plugins were being retrieved as shown in the clip from the previous message. I finally resolved the issue by downgrading my Java version from 11 to 8 (or 1.8). Apparently the marketplace code uses some JAXB classes that have been removed from Java 11.

    Java 11 is the recommended version but apparently the marketplace code didn't get updated properly.

    Hi!
    In my case the installations were made on servers with java 1.8 installed.
    On that server the marketplace was not available until I installed Pentaho in the way I described previously.
    Later I installed Pentaho CE 9.4 on servers with java 11 and 18, but in these cases I repeated the procedure that I had already done in the first place, so I don't think that the Java version is the problem.

    I'm still experimenting with the new install and Marketplace works when running on Java 1.8. When I switch to Java 11 it quits working.

    Carl, are you running on linux? What flavor of Java 11 are you running?

    I'm using openjdk version 11 which is supposed to be identical to oracle.
