Is zoning should be done between two storages or it should be done with the hosts as well??
The Luns you present from the external storage which are then discovered by a VSP or HUSVM will immediately be available to map to a server again if that's what you want. i.e. the Lun is just passed through the VSP unchanged - except for the benefit of all the cache in the VSP - it will be given a new internal VSP LDEV identity for reference internally but is actually the same external Lun. This is the basis of quick migration from an older storage system - it only takes one interruption to install the FC cables and remap the Luns back to the same servers and restart them. The Luns appear the same to any server as if they were internal Luns although the VSP knows. Even the VSP will use the Luns as if they were internal except to force them to lower Tier levels if used in HDT pools.
In some cases the change can be non-disruptive but you need to talk to the professional services team about how that is achieved.
Then you can use Shadow Image or volume migration to migrate the external Luns to Luns on internal disks and then maybe shut down and de-install the external system when finished.
Or the external Luns could be redeployed into a pool as lower tier storage.
So you don't need any specifc extra exercise to move the data from the external Luns before they can be used.
In the case of UVM, "host" defines the main storage system, USPV, VSP, HUSVM, G1000 etc which act as the host Initiator to the UVM-connected storage such as AMS, HUS etc.
Yes, zoning and WWN protection is good practice with UVM just the same as with host servers especially via a FC switch. (not mandatory, just good practice)
You can just connect the two ports directly with FC Arbitrated Loop and avoid both zoning or WWN protection.
You could leave a switch un-zoned and just use WWN protection in the UVM-connected system to do the filtering but that might create excessive multiple paths if you weren't careful. For example 4 FC zoned paths would normally give 4-way multi-pathing which is OK, but 4 paths un-zoned could give 16-way multi-pathing which is too much.

we can directly move the data from external luns to internal luns or we need to use Shadow Image to do that.
