I am not sure if this is right place to add this , but you never know whose reading !!
I have 6 Cisco MDS switches that are connected to each other via ISL ( Inter Switch Links ) and we pick up the storage of out an NSC55 and two 9970V disk units.
What I am looking at doing is removing the ISL's and installing DARK FIBRE between the Disks and the MDS switches, thus removing ISL's so each MDS switch will act as its own island. All servers will have dual HBA's and Dual ports on the storage units..
Has any one out in the big storage world done this, seen this, would recommend this or not recommend this......
Any help , pointers or just plain laughing would help..
Thank you for your time
