Hi All,How to configure Hi-Track alert for Hitachi USPV.Hitachi CE is responsible for HiTrack installation and maintenance. There is no customer configuration in it. So best to leave it to them. That may be the case in the US but at the only place where I was allowed to let HiTrack send information out, I managed it because it was easier for me to add the systems than to rely on the CE (as they were overworked but not underpaid). HDS gave me the destinations but I installed and upgraded the HiTrack software. But all that being said, HDS needs to tell the customer the URL the software needs to send the data to. Also if you have old versions floating around, they will not understand the newer systems like whatever HCAP is called now. Another thing to consider is if your gateway/security people have strict policies with ftp or at least passive ftp and other policies about capacity/systems that some people might find interesting.
Hi Stephen,Please let me know how to configure this alert for Hiatchi USPV.Is it need to be done on SVP or in Storage Navigator.
Hi Stephen,Please let me know how to configure this alert for Hiatchi USPV.Is it need to be done on SVP or in Storage Navigator.HiTrack is a HDS monitoring system and it is not associated with the SVP or the Storage Navigator software. It is (generally) a completely separate host that can connect to all the systems in your environment. It gets all sorts of useful (to HDS) information and sends it away to HDS. It can be setup to send people in your environment an email alert for some things. It is not all that good for the customers use but it does notify HDS of issues pretty quickly. I can't remember how to do it but it is pretty easy if you have the HiTrack software configured (by that I mean it is installed and HDS has given you the correct URL to send the data to). Just ensure you login with the "management" password and have a look at the tabs. You will see something that looks like add a new system and there will be a pull down menu for all the systems such as USP/USPV or AMS1000 or AMS2000 or WMS or HCP or Brocade or Cisco switches, etc. It is not rocket science. I can't recall whether you add the SVP or the actual USP V IP address. There should be a HTML help file that tries (somewhat poorly) to explain it all. If this is the first time for you, get your HDS CE to show you how to do it. You have to have a valid support contract for this. They might not want to give you the "management" password if they are not confident with your abilities.
