Whatever happend to ILM Security?

The SNIA Dictionary (see http://www.snia.org/education/dictionary) defines Information Lifecycle Management as:  "The policies, processes, practices, services and tools used to align the business value of information with the most appropriate and cost-effective infrastructure from the time information is created through its final disposition." Key concepts here involved the use of policy-driven transactions that affected the data/information throughout its lifecycle. Security and data protection were envisioned as elements of ILM.
