I am trying out NAA no. from hitachi storage VSP ? How it is possible to get the LUN or device WWN no.?
I know this is an old thread, but this may be the answer that was sought after:
pairdisplay -IM -g vgx08_8 -CLI -l -fwe
I can't understand your question, what is NAA no. ?
I think you refer to the LUN SCSI WWID that includes NAA (Network Address Authority) number, OUI number, etc. If that's the case, you can determine it on the VSP-attached host. It depends on the host OS what command exactly you can use for this. Refer to WWN of Hitachi Device post where you can find various methods of finding it on Linux and Windows.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
~ # uname -a VMkernel ************************** 5.0.0 #1 SMP Release build-821926 Aug 25 2012 18:14:14 x86_64 unknown
~ # ls -l /dev/disks|grep "60e80" -rw------- 1 root root 2199024107520 Apr 5 15:09 naa.60060e8013287b005020287b00000100 -rw------- 1 root root 2199024107520 Apr 5 15:09 naa.60060e8013287b005020287b00000101 -rw------- 1 root root 2199024107520 Apr 5 15:09 naa.60060e8013287b005020287b00000102 -rw------- 1 root root 2199024107520 Apr 5 15:09 naa.60060e8013287b005020287b00000103
0100,0101,0102 and 0103 are LDEVs 1:00;1:01;1:02 and 1:03
From VMware side i can get the Device WWN or NAA no. but i want to get the NAA id or Device WWN from storage end . Is it possible in Hitachi VSP or not ?
As it is possible in EMC VMAX or DMAX storage . Please let me know .
I guess the question for you would be what are you trying to achieve ?
The answer is No.
We can't find lun uid (or naa no.will show in ESX side) from Hitachi storages. But we can find out the LDKC:CU:LDEV number from lun uid.
Then LDKC:CU:LDEV = 00:01:0c
As far as I can tell the WWIDs break down as follows (assuming a RHEL WWID which has a leading 3 and an Enterprise box):
aa bbbbbb cCc dddd ff eeeeeeee gggghhii
aa is the NAA (36 for RHEL, there is no leading 3 on other OSs)
bbbbbb is the HDS OUI 0060e8
cCc is the Model Number for Enterprise 005 for USPV, 006 for VSP - there is a corollary to this, the second digit (C) of this string seems to depend on the Serial number, if this is greater than 65535 (ie. FFFF in Hex ) then this is a 1, otherwise 0
dddd is the serial number in hex (less the leading 1 if greater than 65535) ff seems always to be 00 for Enterprise
eeeeeeee is the serial number again in hex
gggg are always 0000 for Enterprise
hh is the CU
ii is the LDev
So, for example if we have USPV S/N 12345 (Decimal) CU 67(x) Ldev 89(x) we would have a WWID of
36 0060e8 005 3039 00 00003039 00006789
Alternatively a VSP with S/N 67890 (Decimal) CU cd(x) Ldev ef(x) would have a WWID of
36 0060e8 016 0932 00 00010932 0000cdef
There is a good article on this here (includes Modular):-
============ FIRST 1 + 16 Characters ==============================
3 - Page 83 Type Identifier
6 - NAA WWN format Identifier
0060e8 - Hitachi OUI
0 - Reserved
16 - Model : VSP with serial number 65536 or above i.e 1+5208 or 15208 hex = 86536 Decimal
5208 - Serial
==============LAST 16 Characters ================================
00015208 --> Serial Number in hex
0000002e - Ldev Number

I am looking for the exact same thing. I need to find the LUN SCSI WWID for each LUN on a HUSVM. I can find this information with very simple queries on EMC VNX, EMC VMAX, and IBM XIV. Is there not a LUN query command on the array (Gui or CLI) that will display the LUN WWN?
Unfortunately, I don't think there's a way to do this at the moment.
I have found this command to get UUID from hitachi storage VSP:
C:\HORCM\etc>raidscan -p CL1-E-0 -fw -I10
PORT# /ALPA/C,TID#, LU#.Num(LDEV#....)...P/S, Status,Fence, LDEV#,LUN-WWN
CL1-E-0 /cd/ 4, 16, 0.1(2560)..........SMPL ---- ------ -----,60060e801223b800514224b800000a00
CL1-E-0 /cd/ 4, 16, 1.1(2561)..........SMPL ---- ------ -----,60060e801223b800514224b800000a01
CL1-E-0 /cd/ 4, 16, 2.1(2562)..........SMPL ---- ------ -----,60060e801223b800514224b800000a02
CL1-E-0 /cd/ 4, 16, 3.1(2563)..........SMPL ---- ------ -----,60060e801223b800514224b800000a03
I hope this can help you.
